Article 1. Applicability
1.1 These General Terms and Conditions apply in cases where baggage is stored at Baggage Storage at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
Article 2. Presentation and acceptance of baggage
2.1 StartDock distinguishes three different categories of baggage:
- a) Small Bag: suitcases or bags no larger than 40 x 25 x 15 cm and a maximum weight of 5 kilos;
- b) Medium Bag: suitcases or bags with a size between 40 x 25 x 15 cm and 55 x 35 x 25 cm and a maximum weight of 10 kilos;
- c) Large bag: suitcases or bags with a size between 55 x 35 x 25 cm and 150 x 100 x 50 cm and a maximum weight of 32 kilos;
2.2 StartDock is authorized to refuse to accept baggage without providing reasons.
2.3 It is not permitted to store baggage with prohibited or dangerous items. Also animals are not allowed.
2.4 The contents of the baggage must be shown on request.
Article 3. Charges and payment
3.1 The storage charges depend on the category of baggage as referred to in Article 2.1 and are agreed upon in the agreement.
3.2 Payment is possible by cash, debit card or credit card.
Article 4. Picking up baggage
4.1 Baggage can be picked up during the opening hours of StartDock.
4.2 Baggage will only be issued following payment of the storage costs owed and on presentation of the original receipt issued when the baggage was dropped off.
4.3 If no original receipt can be presented, the baggage concerned will only be issued if and after a proof of identity has been presented.
Article 5. Liability
5.1 StartDock is exclusively liable for damage or loss of stored baggage if this can be attributed to intent or gross negligence on its part. StartDock’s liability is always limited to an amount of EUR 150 per item of baggage. StartDock’s liability is also limited to damaged or lost baggage if the counterparty’s insurance.
5.2 The content of suitcases or bags does not fall under the liability of StartDock.
5.3 In the event of damage or loss, the counterparty must immediately report this to the Baggage Storage employee.
5.4 If the stored baggage has caused attributable damage to StartDock, the baggage Storage, StartDock employees or the baggage of third parties, the owner of the baggage is obliged to compensate for this damage to StartDock.
